Description
This somewhat unusual English blend from Samuel Gawith in the Lake District has a cult following. Originally blended for a local Cumbrian smoker, who could not find the perfect blend for himself. What starts off as a base of Brown and Bright Virginias mixed with Latakia is steamed to remove any risk of tongue bite and then given a light Vanilla casing, before being blended with Turkish Izmir.
From the pouch you are greeted with the unmistakable aroma of Oriental tobaccos, with a slight Vanilla twinge in the background. What really matters is how Perfection smokes and the name really hits the nail on the head. The Izmir makes up the core of the taste, with it spicy and creamy flavours, while the Virginia and Latakia taking up a back seat. The Vanilla is very subtle and just adds a little extra sweetness to the smoke, without making it overly aromatic. ?Thanks to the steaming process, the Virginias remain cool and smooth while still keeping the grassy character
