Description
Partagas Capitols Cigar – Tin of 5
The Capitols have all of the character and full-bodied intensity for which the brand is famed and have been made using a careful selection of leaves drawn from the finest plantation in the Vuelta Abajo area of Pinar del Rio, Cuba.
If there is one particularly famous cigar factory in Havana, it is Partagas. The factory was opened in 1845 by Don Jaime Partagas and it has been making the cigars that bear his name ever since.
Partagas is immediately recognisable by its deep, earthly flavour. The character of its blend springs from a selection of filler and binder tobaccos grown in the Vuelta Abajo zone and chosen for their unmistakable richness of flavour and aroma.
The Capitols are Mareva sized cigars (5 1/8” (129mm) x 42 ring gauge) and are presented in a 1970s retro tin with a pressure pop-up lid. The design and style of the tin was inspired by the pocket cigar cases that were much in vogue during that decade and includes retro branding which many today associate with the iconic sign that hangs outside the world famous factory in Havana.

These certainly aren’t cigars for the faint-hearted, and we typically suggest that only more experienced smokers pick up Partagas cigars. The cigars bring a powerful spicy and earthy flavour with the smoke which can be too much for those not used to smoking.
The brand name Partagas belongs to two separate lines of cigars that are produced by different and competing businesses. The first is a line of Cuban cigars, produced for Habanos SA. The other is made in the Dominican Republic, which contains no Cuban tobacco, and is made for the General Cigar Company.
The Partagas name is known as being one of the highest selling cigars in the world, second to the celebrated Montecristo. The Serie D No.4 is considered the headline of the brand.
